Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a popular solution that offers quick, effective treatment for a wide variety of cosmetic imperfections. Patients whose teeth have stubborn discoloration or stains, chips, cracks, gaps, or misalignment can benefit from the application of porcelain veneers. Veneers are made of thin ceramic shells - roughly the thickness of an eggshell - that are permanently bonded to the front of each treated tooth. Dr. Bussiere uses only the highest quality ceramic materials. Porcelain can be altered to match the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth, and is naturally translucent, just like enamel. Each veneer is crafted to blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth, helping the entire smile look straight and symmetrical. And because porcelain is naturally resistant to staining, our patients can enjoy their luminous new smile for years to come.

Teeth Whitening

A bright, white smile looks healthy and youthful. But over time even the healthiest teeth can become dull and discolored. Extrinsic stains that affect the naturally-porous outer layer of the tooth are extremely common. If you frequently enjoy tea, coffee, wine, and foods like berries and soy sauce, your teeth may have become darker. Smoking, age and genetics can also darken teeth.

We offer in-office and take-home teeth whitening to brighten our patients' smiles. The Zoom!® Teeth Whitening System is an in-office procedure that can brighten teeth several shades in just a single treatment. The painless procedure uses a hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel and dental lamp to eliminate years of staining in as little as 45 minutes. For our patients who prefer to whiten at home, we are able to provide whitening kits that include custom-fitted whitening trays. At-home treatment is extremely affordable, can be used at your convenience, and may be recommended for our patients who are especially prone to sensitivity.

Invisalign®

Crooked teeth, overcrowded teeth, and gaps between the teeth can all detract from the beauty of your smile. These conditions can also contribute to a buildup of hard-to-clean plaque and tartar, compromising overall oral health. Still, many of our patients are reluctant to undergo traditional orthodontic treatment that requires metal braces and brackets. For our patients who are interested in a more discreet, convenient method of straightening their teeth, we offer Invisalign®. Invisalign® uses a customized series of clear, plastic aligners that are used to gently correct misalignment and straighten the teeth. These smooth, comfortable aligners can be removed for eating and cleaning, and are nearly invisible during use. After treatment is complete, the result is a beautiful smile that is healthier and easier to clean. Dental Bonding

Similar to porcelain veneers, dental bonding can be used to achieve a range of aesthetic goals. Bonding material is made of a composite resin that is applied using a freehand technique. Once the desired number of layers have been applied, the material is cured, or hardened, using a specialized dental lamp. Dental bonding may be recommended to lengthen short teeth, close gaps between teeth, or fill small chips and cracks. The procedure is very affordable, offers immediate benefits, and can be completed in just one visit.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Dental fillings are used to treat teeth suffering from a small amount of decay. Traditionally, fillings were made of a silver amalgam material. Silver fillings not only stand out in stark contrast to the tooth's enamel, but can also cause health complications in patients with metal allergies.

Our practice prefers mercury-free, tooth-colored fillings for their aesthetic appeal, durability, and health benefits. Tooth-colored fillings are made of composite resin that can be matched to the unique hue of a patients' teeth. This type of filling blends naturally with a treated tooth's surrounding enamel while protecting against further decay and damage.

Porcelain Crowns

The creation of a dental crown typically requires a minimum of two visits to the dentist and a lengthy waiting period in between. At Avon Center Dentistry we are proud to offer same-day dental crowns to our patients. Using 3-D scanning and CEREC® technology we are able to create beautiful, durable porcelain crowns in minutes. After digital impressions are taken of your teeth, the information is sent to an on-site milling machine which uses the highest quality porcelain to create customized restorations. Your crown can be immediately bonded into place is fully functional by the time you walk out of our office. Pressed porcelain naturally mimics the appearance of a tooth's enamel, and can sustain a huge amount of bite force. For unique and challenging cases, we may recommend that your crown is made at an off-site dental laboratory.

Porcelain Bridges

Dental bridges literally "bridge" the gap left by a missing tooth. A single missing tooth or number of missing teeth located next to one another can be treated using a bridge. A bridge consists of a false tooth or restoration, which is typically secured using dental crowns attached to surrounding, healthy teeth. All-porcelain bridges look extremely natural. Your customized restoration will be crafted to match the hue, shape, and size of surrounding teeth to blend invisibly into your smile. Dental bridges can be cared for just like your natural teeth, and with proper hygiene, can last for years.
